I wear slayer helm most of the time in melee gear, and most bosses require switches so you end up wearing face guard which doesn’t give negatives. Serp is obviously better for both roles it's just down to whether or not you want to spend the extra GP using it over neitiznot. It's not worth over neitz for attacking.
