When I was farming for the armor I wore an agape ring, covetous gold serpent ring +2, prisoner tatters and jester mask. Using covenant of champions I used 1 ascetic at the bonfire (to avoid aggroing all the Heide knights because dragon rider was dead) then I just spawn at the first bonfire and kept farming the first Heide knight over and over using rusted coins to help boost discovery as well.
Heide Knight Sword got me through NG, infused with lightning and with a faith based character. But you will find the sword lacking power near the end of NG and the reach is also quite short. I found the sword to have deceptively good range, but maybe that's just me. Heide Knight Sword doesn't scale well with FTH iirc, get a Defenders Greatsword for massive FTH scaling and damage. Or just infuse a weapon you like with Lightning. But Heide Knight Sword has a -meh- moveset and doesnt scale well with FTH. Mundane build will do a ton of damage. Pre-nerf ResoWeap did more damage than Mundane on Santiers though ...
