I have beaten the game already and had solved the clock puzzle in the first run.They act exactly the same as cards in the actual game as if it were your turn. Read up on the sigils and remember that attacks go from left to right. Like a slink sigil in part 1 would drop his tail when attacked and block one to the right, same happens in the siding puzzle, just with less visual feedback.
