For things we can measure up front it is an all around better gun, better shooting, more ammo, easier to grip, better sights, less recoil. So I would argue the Max is better at the range and better as a carry than the LCP ii. It is an evolutionary improvement and not a revolutionary one, the LCP ii is still a great gun.
