Thanks for the help, and yes I am basing my build off a fusion of Fudgemuppet's Spellsword and Battlemage builds. *Just to restate, this is an no-mods playthrough*. I think I'm going with One hand, destruction, and heavy armor as my main skills, with smithing and enchanting to augment my equipment as I progress.

I have tried a classic one-handed spellsword build although with less skills on early and midgame since I use Aetherius. I just can’t afford spreading my skills too thin. My major skills were one-handed, destruction, and block. In general, two offensive skills + one defensive skill is my best strategy until midgame.
