Burrowing Claws has two real components: the weapon that it gives you access to, and the ability to dig through walls and dig staircases. The claws are pretty terrible weapons, frankly. The damage increment that they use is less than 1d6 until mutation level 10, which is less than a carbide dagger, and it starts at 1d2, which is bronze-tier.
