Yeah, My advice is to set up the absolute simplest oil production possible. 1 refinery. 1 machine making plastic. 1 machine making sulfur. I typically set my oil processing up such that Heavy Oil gets shunted into one Tank, Light Oil into another, and Petroleum Gas into a third.
