From what I've shot out of my 454 and out of 45-70 TC Encore barrels theres no way I'd ever touch off a 450Marlin! My suggestion is to get a smaller revolver you are more likely to have handy (big guns get left behind or stuck in an inaccessible place too often). A Ruger in .454 is plenty.
