emuiibo has been completely rewritten, and this has been incredibly helpful, since almost any issue present for previous versions is no longer a problem ;) Key combos are no longer a thing, since they were a not very friendly way of controlling emuiibo, and having an overlay is 100 times more helpful.

you have to go into tagmo and refresh the foomibos once you set the folder then click on the amiibo that you want and click write then place the nfc under it and its done. I can see the proper menu now, and tell it to load an amiibo, but it doesn't scan in-game. Tested on Breath of the Wild and Link's Awakening HD. Edit: I'm using 1.0.0 from GitHub.

Tesla Overlays + Emuiibo + Amiigo is how I got it to work. Amiigo generates the files needed by Emuiibo. The emuiibo overlay makes it straightforward to turn it on and pick an amiibo.
