it is called the quantity control valve. when you monitor it you look for stable amperage draw. when it is not stable, it will give an erratic idle. it is on the back of the fuel pump. as I stated before, it has bolts and an electrical connector and is replaceable. it runs about 250 bucks and takes about 2 to 3 hours to change as the fuel lines have to come off to gain access to the valve.
Hello Everyone, I need help with DD15, the truck has some fuel issues. The code I have its Fuel Rail Pressure too low, it has a hard time starting and at 1000rpm its cutting, its not idlingling smooth. I did Idle speed balancing, it seems to be fine, also did FSIC test, its fine except (rail pressure did not meet requirements). PCV valve reads 2.Section 5.8.2PLV Leakage Flow Test. Remove PLV line to the fuel filter module. Install clear hose and fitting J-48708-4 from J-48708 kit. Cap fitting at module. Connect the opposite end to the J-48708 tank. Crank or start engine and note the return flow to the tank.
