Ive had mouse over heals for healing for about two years in ffxiv. I have mo for my three "heals" per healer. The basic heal, the special heal (cure 2, adlo, benefic 2) and the small/special heal (regen, embrace (fairy), aspected benefic). You don't need mo for aoe heals of course.As a former WoW player that spent some time healing, macros in FF seem WAY more restrictive than the ones in WoW. WoW healing is usually dealing with consistent, unpredictable damage, so most healers tend to focus on healing. FFXIV, on the other hand, have healers usually dealing with big bursts of predictable damage. AoE heals are also a lot stronger in FFXIV.

Essentially you should be able to use this on a mob that you have lost aggro on to cover the mob's new target. I've found it to be a lot more effective than using mouseover macros with this ability etc. The only real risk is if you try to use it on say a healer who is out of range and is healing a dps in your range you will cover the dps.

Eh the only really useful macros is a mouse over Aetherial Manipulation so you dont have to change your target, mouse over sleep and maybe mouse over psysick. Like stated before our dps rotation doesnt have much need for macros. Maybe doing Raging Strikes and Quelling Strikes on the same macro will help as well.

Setting and targeting your Focus Target are two keybinds that are useful in combat. As such, I put them on Shift+B and B, relatively closeby keybinds. As a Healer, I use them to make sure I can always see my Tank’s buffs and debuffs and quickly target them no matter what’s happening.
