Offerland • 10 mo. ago. 10 out of ten I use third party plugin for reverb. Ableton stock reverb sounds like utter crap. Hybrid reverb sounds decent though. Put the reverb on a send and use EQ and Sidechain compressor after the reverb, it will help you getting a reverb sounds that fits better in the mix. 1.Two different computers tested. (numbers are illustrative) CPU 1, audio interface X: at 128 buffer size, sound is clear, cpu usage is around 40%, latency is 14ms. at 64 buffer size, sound is crackling, cpu usage 70%, latency 9ms. at 32 buffer size, sound is crackling so much, it is not possible to work, cpu usage 100%, latency 6ms.For the Push 2, there’s no suitable Linux driver for the display that I’ve found. The problem with the way ableton does it is that you have to use this hacky method of setting the round robin samples to different "select zones" (SEL tab in the zones view), and randomly modulate the sample selection with a sample+hold LFO. As opposed to kontakt, logic sampler, and even decent sampler that have it built in.It's insane that it's still technically a Max4Live device and not just a part of stock Ableton. I totally get you on this but i actually think its the other way around. Now that my reaper is very optimized ableton feels super clunky and slow.Ableton is focused on live music, playing loops and virtual instruments, etc. and the timeline / production mode is indeed limited compared to Reaper and other DAWs. Ableton was designed to be a performance instrument and then evolved into a DAW, for me that aspect makes it better for jamming and experimenting with arrangements.. so my workflow is get the basic song worked out in Ableton then move to Cubase to finish it off and give it the polish..

Ableton is like a modular synth. You need to add some reverb to give the sound space. Some saturation for warmth, layer it with another instrument else to give weight.
