Not sure if you can add it to an existing save but it might be ok since it's just a ship pack. Certain mods also add more IBB bounties if you have ship and weapon pack installed. Beyond the sector also destroys your saves after a while so don't download it.

In general, it's weird to compare so many different types of ships without many tiers. Dominator is good but it isn't crazy good like the ships in Very good tier. Doom and Odyssey are absolutely good enough to be in very good tier, they can take out 120 DP of enemy ships without breaking a sweat.
