Everytime I have needed a new Bee, I was able to one within 10 - 30 Hellquist kills. I just go to Arid Nexus, hop in vehicle, hope out (if you hit the rock in front of the tower, you will get that bug where you immediately leave the vehicle), go up, kill, no Bee quit to menu and restart.

If you're on regular mob play on Maya with cloud kill, any high damage slag weapon will do. Just shoot the first guy in front and the rest just melts in the clouds. Even a slag sniper can do the job. If you absolutely must use an smg, I like the combo of Slagga + cloudkill + maybe Bee shield.
