I've SO misunderstood thunderwave! I fist thought it was just a 15 foot cube cantered on you, but I've since found out the the origin point (self) is meant to be next to one of the cubes faces. This makes the spell a lot more versatile, e.g. Hitting the group of scattered enemies in front of you, rather than hoping they gather around you neatly.
