Add a compressor with a kinda high ratio, slow attack, and the make-up gain as high as you can get it without clipping. To make the sub, start with an 808 sample or a sine wave from any synth, and use a ton of saturation with soft-clipping enabled. Compress to taste. I clip my kicks hard, then add a glue compressor.I leave those four lugs to the original tuning. That takes out so much of the ring on THAT snare. Get a drum key, watch some videos etc. I don't use moon gels or tape or any of that stuff. All acoustic drums have over and under tones.
