To maximize the benefits of the acid effect, it seems I would avoid using those debuffs. However that doesn't seem to make up ...Dodgy, along with Blocker, and Serendipity are the top best defence perks. The recently improved Dodgy too. It used to take action points every time you get hit, now the reduction to action points have a 2 second cooldown. It went from being a great perk to being a absolute beast of a perk. Look up youtube videos about it. Many people do this at the house in Somersville with lots of books. Also, I've found the easiest place to get chainsaws is Expeditions if you do them regularly. There are 2-3 spawns for them and if you learn them, you can pick them up when you do expeditions. The Metal Dome always has a chainsaw too.The Secret Service Armor is an amazing set of armor.
