I'm running around doing some PvP and i noticed a lot of people with really fast straightswords doing almost half my hp in damage with a single quick attack, meanwhile my quickattacks with 40/40 friedes scythe is doing maybe 1/10 of someones HP, ripostes dealing not even 1/5 of their hp. I made a friede scythe build aswell: 35 vigor, 14 att, 13 vit, 12 strength, 40 dex, 50 int, 11 faith and base luck (starting class was the one with sellsword twinblades). Friedes greatscythe is the best. It does not lose damage from landing an attack with the handle but still benefits from the "sweet spot" damage boost when landing an attack with the blade. It is also has the advantage of quite a few different move sets to mess around with.
