Jul 21, 2002 · 62 Posts. Jul 22, 2002. I had 75 questions also and passed. My friends that took them with me got 89 and 99 questions and both passed. We all cried together thinking we just had to have failed, but we all felt real confident. We knew our stuff before we went in.

They do publish the following: Pass rates (around 85% most of the time for first time test takers); average number of questions (around 120 most of the time); average amount of time (about 2 hours). Candidates pass and fail at every number.Every nurse I talk to says if you get 75 questions only and it shuts off you've pretty much passed (99% of the time) but instructors in school said that's not the case if you've been getting every question wrong. However, if you notice the questions getting harder and it shuts off at 75, you've definitely passed.The last semester we did two practice full-length HESI comprehensive tests which were 160 questions in 5 hours, my final score was 878. Archer is cheaper and very similar to NCLEX. The questions are not wordy. Kaplan teaches you strategies on how to answer the questions, which can be helpful.Since the minimum number of questions you'll take on the NCLEX is 75, and the maximum is 145, this could happen at any point between those 2 numbers. Theoretically, the computer could know from your first 75 questions that you failed and stop giving you more, or it could know that you passed.Exam stopped at 75 and PASSED! Yep I only used Mark Klimek and Archer for 3 weeks passed with 75 questions as well. The 4 consecutive high/very high they guarantee 99% pass rate or you get it free until you pass.
