I can get a 2015 1199 R (mint condition, and only 2k miles) for around the same price as a new V2. $18.5k for the 1199 R and my dealer has quoted me at $17.6k OTD for a V2. The use case is really just a weekend fun bike. Taking it to the twisty mountain roads near my house. Occasionally might ride it into the office. Never in the rain or winter.

The Monster does get hotter under the seat than the V2 which does a better job dissipating the heat. I would strongly consider the SP and add on the Termi racing silencers. Ducati reliability improved greatly after the Audi/VW purchase. As BeNice said, it isn't Honda reliability if that is what you are looking for in a bike.
