Fanatic android tier here. Moving a mind from T4 to T5 means you will kill T5 personality as you know and that means your T4 traits will replace T5 completely. My advice, craft Mutiply android to get Tough perk because when you move the mind to T5 you will literally have most broken T5 ever. All you need to do, if that's true, is build both a repair pod and a double bed in the room, assign the android to the repair pod, and you should be good. It's a bit of a tedious workaround, though.
