Generally what you want for effective soloing is AOE damage, defenses, and some kind of self-heal or sustainability. I'd say three popular choices right now are Paladin, Barb, and Wizard EK/PM.CHA-based Sacred Vanguards. The first build in this thread is an updated version of my PDK paladin Vanguard. Dwarves have a great racial tree for barbs, axe bonuses, loads of extra con and racial toughness HPs. Remove poison/disease, extra combat DCs. Downside is you have to choose between an axe an a more potent two hander. Gearing isn't as easy to come by in hardcore.

I tested out the imbue thoroughly on blaster warlock and determined that investing into the imbue damage isn't going to give you great effect since you spend half your time casting spells at cap anyway and you would be better off just focusing on something else instead.My answer is go for Sharn Gear and sets nomatter which class you are playing.
