Many people are very unhappy with the state of military medicine right now. I would make sure that you want to do this, as a 10 year commitment minimum (3 years for the shortest residency) is a long, long time, particularly practicing medicine in an environment that is rife with problems. Anyways I have been considering USUHS because not only is it cheaper, however, also has lower matriculant profiles. Not to mention I would like to do USAF. I read a lot about military medicine, so don't think I'm just applying here for the money. Really interested in USAF as well. I was wondering how branch assignments were determined.
