You have to hook a survivor and the other survivors have to be outside a certain range, whereas Deerstalker shows everything within a limited range. In addition, BBQ is easily obscured by a number of things, especially gen auras.

Even with the BP I avoided using it because there are just better perks. Most killers i probably still will use it on others i'll swap it for floods of rage since it shows you where everyone is regardless of if they're far away or not. And since there ARE counters to this perk and people post non stop that there aren't, it reinforces my belief that people hate to change their play style and adapt, which BBQ makes you do.
