Replace with the correct hardened dowel pin part number 374072S from Ford/New Holland. This is listed as a 5/16″ x 7/8″ dowel pin but it is actually .309″ diameter not 5/16″ (.3125″).This tractor has been sitting for who knows how long. Your tractor should have a black and silver decal just in front of the steering column showing you the shift pattern. The 12 speed option you mentioned was available.

You start by backing them both off so you have backlash in both, and then adjusting the LH one first to the main nut to zero backlash, and then adjusting the RH one to the LH one for the same zero backlash.

Pump the fuel primer for 5-10 minutes to dispel the air in the lines, and repressurize the fuel. Keep pumping until you see fuel come out of the bleed screw. Tighten the bleed screw and replace the fuel pump. Attempt to start the engine. 1966 Ford 2000 3-cyl gas, 4-spd I bought this tractor earlier in the spring and used it with the grader blade and loader for about 4 hours straight one day. It ran fine the whole time. I had it down for a while to reconnect the PTO lever that had slipped out of place and change the back-end fluid. I changed the oil and oil filter while I was at it.

2000's were the economy model.. many had 6spd trannies.. but some had 8spds.. look at the code on the bellhousing.. a 2000 post 68 gaser , ag chassie with an 8spd and live pto will have a code of: B1023C if it is instead B1022C it is non live. as for the lift not staying put.. make sure the draft control handle is set to position control mode. soundguy
