The idea behind TB Photovoices KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation’s (KNCV) philosophy on reducing TB stigma is to build empathy and mutual respect among communities, health care workers and people affected by TB. It aims to reduce the tendency to label, blame, shame and control by strengthening the awareness of our own judgements.The results of the study indicate that the participants' environmental values and sustainability perspectives, exposed through photovoices, pertain mainly to issues regarding livestock grazing, deforestation, soil erosion, wildlife and human co-habitation, waste management, afforestation, and the conservation of the natural vegetation.The findings of the study, based on an analysis of sixty-six photovoices, indicate four main narratives encapsulating the students’ real-time lived experiences: (i) the challenges of encountering the crisis; (ii) conceptualizing the experience; (iii) coping practices; (iv) perspectives for the future.Just as the communities of Bunga, Cegi and Pengalusan, located on and below Mt Agung, were returning to their regular routines after six months of evacuation following multiple eruptions of the sacred mountain, PVI engaged the students in a follow-up project, at the students’ request.
