you can do something kinda like that in gigastructures where if you build the quasi-stellar obliterator there is a chance (depending on what options you selected at beginning) that all non genocidal non gestalts will join together and declare total war on you. Then, you progress through the stages as usual, and ensure that before finishing the QSC build, you have designed it in the Ship Designer.
Overall, Corvettes do not win even fights; they are excellent at for mopping up, and unless you're vastly outteching FEs, Corvettes will at best offer an even engagement.
