I don't think it works that way though because you could just sink any level 5 emissary and put up their flag and instantly become one. Yeah, I wish you could put your own flag back on the ship, maybe have a rank or two lower than what you had as a penalty. Currently it seems the only thing you can do it hide it to keep other players away from it.
