The EMP is a 9mm I believe, so it isn't .45 vs 9mm in this case. Word, so even less reason to buy this then. If you MUST have a 1911 for carry, and can't swing the Stacatto or any other double stack 2011, then yes it will do ok. It's still a good reliable gun, trigger is good, and will cycle reliably with 9mm.
