Your observations are valid, and I have observed similar patterns. In hindsight, I don't think of their switches as "bad" or anything- every systems' switches can present very differently, depending on whether the system comes off as "overt" or "covert" (I'm inclined to believe the idea of DissociaDID being more of an overt system).
