Your only choices for a pistol build are the Brownells receiver or a CNC %80 receiver. Any MR556 lower can only be a rifle or SBR. I just went with the Brownells lower as they are very well done and can be a pistol, SBR or rifle. Much better options IMO. Reply. Save. LEEF · #9 · Jan 25, 2019.

I converted my BB date code MR556 to a SBR with an 11" barrel. I also have a BG date code MR556 with the stock 16" barrel. If I could only keep two of the three rifles, I would keep my BB SBR MR556 and my SG553. If I were in your shoes, I would keep (and shoot) the BC MR556, sell the CR556, and order a SG553 from JDI.
