If you go to Relay Tower EL-B1-02 (South side of the map SW of Fort Defiance) and travel East-South-East there's a larger pond with a cliff overlooking the Cranberry Bong and a perfect view of the nukes dropping to spawn the queen. There's also a copper deposit on the opposite side of the pond from the cliff. I highly recommend it.

Lead isn't really rare since anyone can just waltz into Lucky Hole Mine with an excavator suit and mine up 300+ lead ore, which when refined is over a thousand lead. However, you'll also need large amounts of acid to turn the ore into lead scrap. If you don't have the acid, the ore is worthless to you until you attain it.
