In the first iteration of the mod, 1.3, a lot of people were getting banned (mostly if they did not own the DLC, because Wex Dust allowed them to invade those areas) but since they introduced 1.4 (the most recent version) that glitch was patched out and most everyone has been safe.

EDIT: The Wex Dust functionality was enabled throughout, and it's confirmed since it's sending me to other places. It's still slow though.
